About Me​

Pat was born February 19, 1948 in Grand Island, NE.  She attended Catholic parochial schools, graduating from Central Catholic High School.  She spent several weeks each summer in the little town of Herndon, Kansas where her mother grew up.  In her senior year of high school, her father was killed in a traffic accident. 

 

After graduation she attended Kearney State Teacher’s College for one semester.  She then moved to Denver, Colorado and worked in a pharmacy.  She shared an apartment with three girlfriends.  She stayed in Denver for two years and then moved back to Grand Island.  She began working at Skagway and living with her mother in the house at 2115 N. Grand Island Ave. 

 

In November of 1968 while visiting a friend, she met Bob Reese, who was visiting her friend’s husband.  She was so impressed that she poured a beer on his head.  They were married 8 months later on July 12, 1969.  

Pat was a stay-at-home mom for her boys, Ryan and Kyle, until they were in middle and high school.  She did volunteer work in their schools, teaching art.  She was an accomplished artist specializing in watercolors,  When the boys were older, she began work as an interior designer. 

 

Pat and her family moved all around the country as Bob pursued his career.  Bob and Pat finally ended up in New Orleans,  After returning to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Pat fell ill from cancer.  After a six-month struggle, she passed away in March of 2007.  She now rests for eternity on a wind-swept hill overlooking the little town she loved, Herndon, Kansas.  

 

She is missed.
