About Me

I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 7, 1979, however I didn’t live there long.  We moved around a lot when I was a kid.  We went from Lincoln NE to Columbus OH to Dallas TX to Chicago IL to Houston TX to Grand Island NE to Omaha NE back to Houston TX then finally to Bel Air MD.  I graduated from C Milton Wright HS in 1998.  I was all set to attend Frostburg State University, however at the last minute I realized I might not be ready for college after all.  I mean, I did watch my brother fail out of Texas State in one semester.  So, I took 2 years to find myself at Harford Community College.  I maintained an impressive 2.0 GPA while accumulating almost 15 credits over those two years!

Finally in the Fall of 2000 I drove my 1989 Ford Probe GT into the mountains of Western Maryland where I would spend the next 4 glorious years of my life, Frostburg State University.   I wanted to study a major that couldn’t possibly set me up for any kind of success in life, so I went with History.   Upon graduation from this fine institute, I had a major life decision to make.  Move in with my parents in New Orleans or slum it in the basement of my best friend’s rowhouse in Baltimore.  Obviously, I went with the basement.  This is where I discovered my fear of mice, as I came face to face with them nearly every night.  Since no one was looking to hire a history major from Frostburg, I made money waiting tables in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore.  I did eventually find a “real” job and have shockingly built up a somewhat impressive career.  I currently work as the University Talent Senior Manager at a national engineering and construction firm based out of Chantilly VA called ECS.  I basically run our internship and entry level hiring programs…..ironic as it took me two years to find a job out of school.

Along the way, I met a girl named Jamie.  We fell in love and have been married for almost 15 years.  We had two wonderful children and have built a great life together.   I work remote, so I have more time to see my kids grow up.  I love coaching their teams, seeing them play sports, and just spending time with their friends.  As much as I would love to move closer to my family, I told myself I don’t want my kids to have to say bye to their friends, so looks like Jamie and I will be in Maryland for the foreseeable future.

In my free time, as little as it seems I have, I love to watch sports (Go Ravens and Huskers!!) play old man sports like slow pitch softball and golf, and drink whiteclaws.  We have a mini golden doodle named Husker who rounds out our family.  If you want to hear a long but hilarious story, ask me this weekend about how I got Husker.
