About Me
Hey there! I’m Kaitlyn Haney Reese, born in 1987 in Plano, TX, and proudly the youngest of
three daughters—aka the one who perfected the art of getting away with everything. In 2000, I
traded the Texas heat for the cool vibes of the California Bay Area, where I graduated from
Amador Valley High School in 2005, surviving both calculus and questionable fashion choices.
I then headed to Baylor University from 2005-2009, where I majored in...well, let's just say I
learned a lot about both academics and the fine art of tailgating. After graduation, I decided a
regular post-college job wasn’t quite adventurous enough, so I moved to South Africa for a year.
There, I taught preschool and first grade while running a hostel with eight children. Think of it as
a real-life game of "Survivor," except with more crayons and less coconut.
Back in the States, I tried out a smorgasbord of jobs, ranging from bartending to in-home
developmental therapy for children. What can I say? I like to keep things interesting. Eventually,
I decided it was time to get serious (sort of) and earned my master’s degree, becoming a
Licensed Professional Counselor. Yes, that means I’m officially qualified to psychoanalyze you,
but don’t worry, I will wait until after the second drink.
I spent some time as a case manager for Foster Care and served as a Guardian Ad Litem for
the Travis County Family Court System, where I honed my skills in navigating bureaucratic red
tape and perfected the art of the "stern but caring" look. In 2022, I made a dazzling career move
(literally) and became the Director of Operations at the Austin Diamond Room, where I help
people make the tough decision between round or princess cut.
As for love, I met Brendan Reese on an online dating app in September 2017, proving that you
can find true love in a sea of questionable profile pics. We got engaged in 2020, and on
September 4, 2021, I officially joined the Reese family, where I quickly learned that “for better or
worse” sometimes means not really hard to not get mad after getting farted on. Our biggest
adventure yet? Welcoming our daughter, Lola James Reese, on 2/22/24—a date so cool that
even our sleep-deprived brains can remember it.
And that’s me in a nutshell—a life full of laughs, love, and just the right amount of chaos!
