About Me
I was born in Farmington, New Mexico. I formed my first memory in Colorado Springs, Colorado, spent my childhood in Allen, Texas, and finished my high school years in Paonia, Colorado. Throughout that time it was pretty obvious to everyone that I was going to be an engineer of some kind, but nobody was quite sure what kind yet. All that time spent playing with Legos, Kenex, and snap circuits led me to pursue that kind of interest in school through introductory engineering courses and robotics club.
However, during the summers, my mother, father, sister and I would go on these great long camping trips across the entire country. We fished in countless lakes, hiked hundreds of miles, and found every interesting nook and cranny we could in the backcountry of the States. Those trips are part of what inspired us to move back to Colorado.
After finishing up High School in Paonia, I started college at Fort Lewis in Durango. Here I truly cemented my standing as a complete nerd by spending most of my time either studying for the rigorous coursework of a computer engineer or running the tabletop gaming club. I signed up to be an RA the year before COVID-19 hit. So instead of making my hall fun and interesting, I was the bad guy saying “No guests allowed” and “Put your mask on”. Fortunately, due to the stringency around COVID, I was able to stay in person for the majority of my college career and finish strong.
A couple of months after graduating I found a job working for NAVSYS in Colorado Springs. Here I work on developing technology for alternative navigation solutions besides GPS. NAVSYS is a small company so I find myself doing new and interesting things every day which I find truly fulfilling.
