About Me
Hey, I’m Brendan Charles Reese, born in Lincoln, Nebraska, where the corn grows tall, the
winters last forever, and Husker football is practically a birthright. I’ve been yelling "Go Big Red!"
since I was old enough to form a sentence.
My first job was at a mom-and-pop grocery store, where I quickly mastered two things: bagging
groceries and sneaking snacks (for scientific purposes). After high school, I made the obvious
life choice to take a year off—because who needs college right away when you’ve got a
hammer in one hand and a beer in the other?
In 1999, I decided to get serious (ish) and went to Milford Community College for building and
construction. I graduated in 2000, and a month later, I was in Big Sky, Montana, building custom
log homes by day and snowboarding like a pro by night. Basically, I was living in an outdoor
adventure movie montage.
In 2001, I swapped the mountains for Minnesota and spent five years trimming homes and
dodging frostbite. By 2006, I figured I’d return to Nebraska, because nothing says "home sweet
home" like flat land and football.
But Nebraska wasn’t enough to hold me down. In 2007, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I’ve
been building restaurants, remodeling Airstreams, and tackling any project that involves power
tools and a good challenge. Seven years ago, I took a bigger plunge and started my own
business—proving I can handle more than just a hammer.
Then, in 2017, fate (and the internet) led me to Kaitlyn, the most amazing woman I’d ever meet.
Somehow, I convinced her to marry me in 2020, and we tied the knot on September 4, 2021.
Our best project yet? Our daughter, Lola James Reese, born February 22, 2024—a day I
officially became a dad and learned that nothing will ever go according to plan again.
So yeah, that’s me: Cornfields, construction, and Kaitlyn—life’s still under construction, but it’s
looking pretty good.
